LIVE, ONLINE WRITING CONTAINERS
Online writing containers meet 3 days a week for a month. For protected writing time, community, and kindness: all lighthouses that call us safely to shore.
In the face of everything else that makes up a life, it's almost always our writing that gets pushed aside. Making the time for it can be incredibly hard. But if you are a writer, writing is one of your deepest gifts — not just for yourself, but for the world. These bookended spaces are here to help you prioritize your writing, grow your writing community, and generally just give you space and time to write.
We meet three times a week for an entire month. Each gathering opens with a welcome and a check-in, and then I’ll lead a short meditation to slide us into writing time — usually around two hours per session. As part of this container, you will also receive recordings of these guided meditations/ breathwork practices, for you to download and keep.
At the end of each gathering, we’ll come together for a few minutes to close out and cheer each other on. If you are a writer, writing is one of your deepest gifts. I hope these containers offer you a space where "honoring your deepest gifts" moves to the top of your to-do list. This is a place where you can hold fast to your art, your creative joy, your enthusiasm, and each other.
Live writing containers are for any writer, of any type, at any point of your writing experience. Full and partial fellowships are available.

If you want protected writing time: This is for you
If you are asking, How am I supposed to write with all this going on: This is for you.
If you know that the first part of self-care you drop is your own writing: This is for you.
If you are excited about your WIP but you need a little extra motivation: This is for you.
If you believe that art of all kinds can help shift minds and hearts: This is for you.
If you want to be in community right now: This is for you.
If you want accountability: This is for you.
If you have a deadline: This is for you.
If you aren’t even sure what you want to write, but you know you want to write something: This is for you.
If you just want to hang out with a bunch of other writers and remember who you are, dammit: This is for you.

That's ok! Come to as many as you can; leave early or come late when you need to. You are welcome to be part of this in whatever way works best for you.
-
No. The sessions themselves are not, but the opening meditations are. Each meditation will be available to you to download, keep, and listen to anytime you'd like, within 24 hours of each session.
-
Other than the first and last containers of the month, it will be close to two hours of writing time. For the first and last meeting, plan on about an hour of writing time to allow for the opening and closing circles.
-
Nope. You don't ever have to have your camera on if you don't want to. This is your time.
-
Apologies, but since the containers are space limited, there are no refunds unless there is a waitlist and someone can step right into your spot. Of course, as with every decision, Splendid Mola will hold by the principles of kindness and truth, as we know you will also. Should you have to cancel with short notice for an emergency, please talk to me and I will do whatever I can.

Fellowships are available to any writer who would like to join and has does not have the funds…which may not mean what you think it means. (h/t the marvelous William Goldman)
I love the definition created by Writing The Other, an incredible resource to learn to write characters very different from you sensitively and convincingly. With their permission, I am copying what they post on their website:“We have a broad definition that includes people who outright do not have the money to pay the fee, people who technically have the money but cannot spend it on a writing class, people who live in countries where the registration amount in local currency puts it out of reach, people who are out of work and living on savings, and other situations in-between. We do not require applicants to be flat broke or living in poverty in order to qualify. Please don’t self-reject!
“If you’re hesitating to apply because…
Paying for this class is something I am technically able to do – I have the funds in my bank account today – but I don’t feel I can afford to spend the money on the class, even though it would be beneficial.
I sometimes have enough money to pay this fee, but not right now. And it would be unfair of me to ask for a scholarship when I can wait and hope the class comes back.
I don’t want to take the opportunity away from someone else who needs it more.
I already received a scholarship for a previous class (or two or more).
The response to all of these is: apply anyway. None of those are reasons for you to not apply.”
