IN PERSON RETREATS
Next in-person Retreat: May 15-18 >
The idea behind these retreats is simple: time. Time to write, to brainstorm, to clear your psychic space from distractions. To sit with your manuscript. To revise. To remember why you love this. To finish something. To start something. To remind yourself how good you are. To feel refreshed. To be supported. To not have to think about anything else. To be without any of the labels we put on ourselves or have put onto us in our daily lives. To come alive. To rest deeply. To create.
There are no critiques, no readings, no workshops, no figuring out what to eat, no cleaning. Just you and the incredible spaciousness of uninterrupted time in a supportive community of other writers, with daily all-levels yoga and meditation, amazing food prepared by our private retreat chef, and a peaceful mountain surrounding.
All writers of anything are welcome, whether it’s a book or a blog, a dissertation or a business plan, songs or screenplays or poetry or a journal. Likewise, all levels of physicality and yoga experience are welcome. You do not have to have a current yoga practice, and all yoga is optional. I lead two yoga classes each day: one intermediate and one beginning. You may come to either, both, or neither, whichever serves you best. The yoga is there to help you get out of your mind (in the best possible way) and let the body unwind from hours at a laptop or notebook. There are also daily guided meditations, to slide you into your hours and hours of protected time.
Whatever it is you need in the moment — whether that's writing or reading or sleeping, having a fabulous conversation with another writer, or simply sitting on the wood porch of your cabin, listening to the rustling of the leaves and letting the birdsong wash over you — this retreat is about the time and the permission to do just that. I’d love to see you there.
RETREAT INCLUDES:
