- To finish your reservation, email me your room choice so I can mark it as reserved, and please confirm the retreat dates. This system does not do that automatically, so I cannot mark the room as sold unless you let me know which room! Your room is confirmed as soon as you hear back from me.
LUXURY LOG CABIN — our home base
The hub for our writers retreat, this “log cabin” is a beautiful and large cabin in a lovely residential area near hiking trails and the town. This is where we will meet for breakfast, dinner, meditation, and yoga (lunches are delivered to you). The most gorgeous parts of this cabin are the communal areas. The living room is spectacular, with huge couches and a stone fireplace; there is a game room and gym downstairs; and the deck is huge and lovely, with a hot tub that can hold 7 people. Downstairs also features the two friendly summer camp shared rooms, which at $495 a bed are perfect for any writer who is happy to share.Sleeps: 11

This gorgeous room is right off the main living/gathering space pictured above, and has a huge private bathroom as well as a private entrance to the deck that offers bright natural light. Note: Because this room is right off the main area, where people gather for breakfast and yoga and may hang out and talk after dinner, this room is best for someone who doesn’t sleep past 8 am or go to bed before 9:30 pm. You will hear noise from the main area, and also music from the yoga classes on the deck.

This is one of the friendly summer camp rooms, so called because the beds are close together and is sleeps multiple people, making it perfect for starving (or budget-minded) writers everywhere who are happy to share. This room is small and simple and somewhat basement-y, it shares a shower with five other people (when the rooms are sold out), and the window looks out to under the house rather than to a view. But! Hence the low cost, hooray! In addition to the shared bathroom on the same floor, there’s a shared half bath on the main floor one flight up and another full bath on the upstairs floor that can also be used. Plus, there is plenty of communal writing space throughout this cabin and outside where you can find time to yourself. One note on these: because the beds are so close together, I’m afraid this room can only be reserved by people who are fairly quiet sleepers and don’t snore. Apologies in advance about this, but there won’t be anywhere to put people if this room is noisy at night.

Idyllwild Manor
Idyllwild Manor is a gorgeous, 4200 sq. foot estate. This is not a cabin in the woods but an elegant home with a craftsman art vibe. There are four single rooms and one double. There is also a private hot tub, a covered outdoor patio area, lush gardens, and a bridge across the creek that will bring you into a stunning world of native plants. The home itself is beautifully kept, with tall ceilings and large, bright windows, a large living room, fireplace, library, sun room, and grand piano. Sheets are 500-thread count and the rooms are generously sized. It’s a five-minute drive or a 20 minute walk from the Manor to the Log Cabin.

Fern Valley Inn
Fern Valley Inn is a quaint and rustic inn located directly across the street from the Luxury Log Cabin. It’s a combination of stand-alone cottages and joined rooms—the photo here shows the four rooms that are connected. Fern Valley Inn rooms are open for any gender and are perfect for anyone who wants their own space but likes to be a few close steps away from the main hub.

The important fine print:
- In the rare event where two people request the same room before it’s had a chance to be marked as reserved on the website, the person who paid first will get first choice.
- Payment plan options are an additional $25 to cover associated admin costs.
- If you are paying with Paypal, please note that 3% will be added to cover Paypal’s service fee.
- Cancellation policy: Things happen. I know that all of us will address any cancellation issues from a place of kindness and knowing that we are all on the same side. As a general guideline, if you cancel more than 90 days out, I am happy to give you a full refund; between 60 and 90 days out, the $250 deposit is non-refundable but any other payment is; within 60 days all payments are non-refundable. With that said, I will always do my best to refund your money if a real cancellation need arises.
